The Yankee Stadium press box circa 1950s.
Yankee Stadium in the 1920s. Note the truncated right field granstand. In the
days before radio broadcasts, numbered uniforms, night games and talking pictures,
there was baseball in the Bronx - and a city in love with the Bambino.
Yankee Stadium in the 1950s. Jackie Jensen (on the leader board) never did win a
home run crown, however, the three-time all-star and 1958 MVP racked up three
American League RBI titles (1955, 58, 59) and a stolen base crown (1954). The
scoreboard in this photo was later sold to the Phillies who installed it in Shibe
Park.

Yankee Stadium in the 1920s (above and below). The old bleachers were very big and
very austere. Left center was 490 ft. behind the flagpole and 295 ft down the right
field line. Also noteworthy is the incline of the grass from the warning track to
the wall. The above photograph was taken during the final months of construction
in early 1923.
